IceWM offre una gestione completa tramite combinazioni di tastiera, la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare desktop virtuali, barre delle applicazioni e menu delle applicazioni. Il gestore di finestre viene configurato tramite un file di configurazione piuttosto semplice e supporta l'uso di temi. Per unire finestre e formare una scheda, \u00e8 sufficiente trascinare con il mouse l'intestazione di una finestra sull'intestazione di un'altra, utilizzando il pulsante centrale del mouse mentre si tiene premuto il tasto Shift.
