\u00c8 stato pubblicato un ambiente utente leggero PaperDE 0.2, costruito utilizzando Qt, Wayland e il gestore di composizione Wayfire. Come salvaschermo possono essere utilizzati i componenti swaylock e swayidle, per gestire il clipboard \u2014 clipman, e per le notifiche \u2014 il processo in background mako. Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in C++ e distribuito con licenza GPLv3. I pacchetti sono preparati per Ubuntu (PPA) e Arch Linux (AUR). <\/p>\n

Gli sviluppatori del progetto cercano di combinare un consumo minimo di memoria e risorse CPU con un'interfaccia responsive dall'aspetto moderno, adatta per sistemi desktop, tablet e dispositivi mobili. Su dispositivi con schermo ridotto, per non sovraccaricare l'interfaccia con pulsanti superflui, viene utilizzato un pulsante di navigazione universale, che mostra una pagina con l'elenco delle applicazioni con un singolo tocco e l'elenco delle attivit\u00e0 in corso con un doppio tocco. <\/p>\n

Il progetto sta anche sviluppando un proprio set di applicazioni standard C-Suite, che include una tastiera su schermo, un gestore di file, un visualizzatore di immagini, un visualizzatore PDF, un editor di testo, un calendario, un emulatore di terminale, un programma di disegno, un archiviatore e un monitor di sistema.
