\u00c8 disponibile il rilascio del gestore finestre leggero IceWM 3.1.0. IceWM fornisce un controllo completo attraverso combinazioni di tasti, la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare desktop virtuali, barre delle applicazioni e menu delle applicazioni. Il gestore finestre \u00e8 configurabile tramite un file di configurazione piuttosto semplice, \u00e8 possibile utilizzare temi grafici. Sono disponibili degli applet incorporati per il monitoraggio della CPU, della memoria e del traffico. Sono in fase di sviluppo diversi GUI di terze parti per la configurazione, implementazione del desktop e editor di menu. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in C++ e distribuito sotto licenza GPLv2. <\/p>\n
Nella nuova versione continua lo sviluppo del meccanismo di gestione delle finestre basato sulle schede. \u00c8 stato aggiunto un indicatore speciale nell'intestazione della finestra, che consente di giudicare la presenza di schede e di passare da una all'altra (in precedenza il passaggio avveniva tramite una combinazione di tasti o un menu, e le schede non venivano evidenziate). \u00c8 consentito l'uso di un proprio insieme di parametri (winoption) nella scheda. \u00c8 stato aggiunto un nuovo parametro della finestra \"frame\" per la raggruppamento automatico delle finestre delle applicazioni con un solo valore \"frame\". \u00c8 garantita la conservazione dell'associazione delle schede dopo il riavvio.
