VKD3D-Proton include modifiche, ottimizzazioni e miglioramenti specifici per Proton per garantire migliori prestazioni nei giochi Windows basati su Direct3D 12, che non sono ancora stati integrati nella versione principale di vkd3d. Tra le differenze, si segnala anche l'orientamento all'uso delle moderne estensioni Vulkan e delle capacit\u00e0 delle nuove versioni dei driver grafici per garantire piena compatibilit\u00e0 con Direct3D 12.      <\/p>\n<p>Nella nuova versione:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Aumentati i requisiti per i driver. Per il funzionamento \u00e8 ora necessaria la supporto delle estensioni Vulkan VK_KHR_dynamic_rendering, VK_EXT_extended_dynamic_state, VK_EXT_extended_dynamic_state2 e VK_KHR_maintenance4, implementate in Mesa 22.0 e nei driver proprietari NVIDIA 510.\n<li class=\"l\"> La nuova libreria del pipeline D3D12 presentata nel rilascio precedente \u00e8 stata adattata per qualsiasi gioco, anche per quelli che utilizzano in modo errato l'API D3D12, grazie all'implementazione di una cache di disco interno per la rappresentazione di SPIR-V, generato da DXBC\/DXIL.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata effettuata una serie di ottimizzazioni mirate a ridurre i costi generali e migliorare le prestazioni della GPU, in situazioni come il rendering della profondit\u00e0 (depth pass), l'uso di WriteBufferImmediate(), l'elaborazione delle immagini, l'allocazione di memoria per le risorse e l'accesso ai descrittori radice.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiunta la supporto per funzionalit\u00e0 D3D12 come shader per mesh (richiede supporto VK_EXT_mesh_shader), risorse condivise (shared resource) e barriere (fence).\n<li class=\"l\"> Continua l'implementazione del supporto per DXR 1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiunto il supporto iniziale per HDR.\n<li class=\"l\"> Numerosi correttivi riguardanti il supporto per DXIL sono stati implementati.\n<li class=\"l\"> Migliorata la compatibilit\u00e0 con il driver Intel ANV.\n<li class=\"l\"> Espanse le funzionalit\u00e0 per il debugging.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aumentata la stabilit\u00e0 durante la minimizzazione e il passaggio tra giochi a schermo
