Si prevede di eliminare SHA-1 entro il 31 dicembre 2030 e di passare completamente a algoritmi pi\u00f9 sicuri come SHA-2 e SHA-3.     <\/p>\n<p>Entro il 31 dicembre 2030, l'uso di SHA-1 sar\u00e0 interrotto in tutte le specifiche e protocolli aggiornati del NIST. La cessazione della specifica SHA-1 sar\u00e0 riflessa nel nuovo standard federale FIPS 180-5. Inoltre, saranno apportate modifiche a specifiche correlate, come SP 800-131A, rimuovendo il riferimento a SHA-1. I moduli crittografici che supportano SHA-1 non potranno superare il successivo controllo al NIST e la loro fornitura alle istituzioni governative degli Stati Uniti diventer\u00e0 impossibile (il certificato \u00e8 valido solo per cinque anni, dopodich\u00e9 \u00e8 necessaria una nuova verifica).          <\/p>\n<p>SHA-1 \u00e8 stato sviluppato nel 1995 ed \u00e8 stato approvato come standard federale per l'elaborazione delle informazioni (FIPS 180-1), consentendo l'uso di questo algoritmo nelle istituzioni governative degli Stati Uniti. Nel 2005 \u00e8 stata dimostrata la possibilit\u00e0 teorica di un attacco a SHA-1. Nel 2017 \u00e8 stato dimostrato il primo attacco pratico per collisione con un prefisso specificato per SHA-1, permettendo di abbinare due diverse serie di dati con aggiunte che porterebbero a una collisione e alla generazione dello stesso hash di output (ad esempio, per due documenti esistenti \u00e8 possibile calcolare due aggiunte, e se una viene unita al primo documento e l'altra al secondo, gli hash risultanti SHA-1 per questi file saranno identici).     <\/p>\n<p>Nel 2019, il metodo di determinazione delle collisioni \u00e8 stato notevolmente migliorato e le spese per condurre un attacco sono state ridotte a poche decine di migliaia di dollari. Nel 2020 \u00e8 stato dimostrato un attacco funzionante per creare firme digitali falsificate PGP e GnuPG. Dal 2011, SHA-1 non \u00e8 consigliato per l'uso nelle firme digitali e nel 2017 tutti i principali browser web hanno cessato il supporto per i certificati firmati utilizzando l'algoritmo di hashing SHA-1. Tuttavia, SHA-1 continua a essere utilizzato per le somme di controllo e nel database del NIST ci sono oltre 2200 moduli crittografici e biblioteche certificati che supportano SHA-1.<br \/>\n<br
