La comunit\u00e0 Pine64, impegnata nella creazione di dispositivi open source, ha annunciato l'inizio della produzione nel prossimo anno di un nuovo tablet PineTab2, costruito sulla base del SoC Rockchip RK3566 con un processore quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 (1.8 GHz) e GPU ARM Mali-G52 EE. Il prezzo e il momento in cui sar\u00e0 disponibile per la vendita non sono ancora stati definiti, \u00e8 noto solo che i primi esemplari per il testing degli sviluppatori inizieranno a essere prodotti dopo il capodanno cinese (22 gennaio). Il primo modello di tablet PineTab era disponibile a un prezzo di 120 dollari, mentre il libro elettronico PineNote basato sullo stesso SoC veniva venduto a 399 dollari. <\/p>\n

Come il primo modello PineTab, il nuovo tablet \u00e8 dotato di uno schermo da 10,1 pollici (IPS) e viene fornito con una tastiera staccabile, che consente di utilizzare il dispositivo come un comune laptop. Sono rimaste invariate le specifiche delle fotocamere: posteriore 5MP, 1\/4\u2033 (LED Flash) e frontale 2MP (f\/2.8, 1\/5\u2033), cos\u00ec come le caratteristiche della batteria (6000 mAh). A seconda della configurazione, la memoria RAM sar\u00e0 di 4 o 8 GB e la memoria permanente (eMMC flash) sar\u00e0 di 64 o 128 GB (per fare un confronto, il primo PineTab era dotato di 2 GB di RAM e 64 GB di Flash). Tra le porte, si segnalano due porte USB-C (USB 3.0 e USB 2.0), micro HDMI, microSD e un jack da 3,5 mm per le cuffie. <\/p>\n

Non \u00e8 ancora stato definito quali moduli Wi-Fi e Bluetooth saranno utilizzati nel dispositivo. Non \u00e8 stato ancora annunciato quale distribuzione Linux sar\u00e0 preinstallata. Nel primo PineTab, veniva fornita di default Ubuntu Touch dal progetto UBport, mentre come opzioni venivano offerte immagini di Manjaro Linux, PostmarketOS, Arch Linux ARM, Mobian e Sailfish OS.
