In VKD3D-Proton sono supportate modifiche specifiche per Proton, ottimizzazioni e miglioramenti per un funzionamento di qualit\u00e0 superiore dei giochi Windows basati su Direct3D 12, che non sono ancora stati adottati nella versione principale di vkd3d. Tra le differenze, si nota anche l'orientamento verso l'uso delle moderne estensioni Vulkan e delle funzionalit\u00e0 delle ultime versioni dei driver grafici per raggiungere la completa compatibilit\u00e0 con Direct3D 12.      <\/p>\n<p>Nella nuova versione:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiunto supporto per l'estensione Vulkan VK_EXT_descriptor_buffer, il cui utilizzo ha permesso di ridurre notevolmente il carico sulla CPU.\n<li class=\"l\"> Riscritta l'implementazione dei framebuffer virtuali (SwapChain). Le modifiche hanno consentito un controllo pi\u00f9 preciso dei ritardi e delle immagini mediante l'estensione VK_KHR_present_wait e hanno ridotto il carico sulla CPU nel thread principale.\n<li class=\"l\"> Risolti problemi nei giochi Hitman III, Witcher 3, Spiderman Remastered: Miles Morales, Borderlands 3, Age of Empires IV, Resident Evil Village.    <\/ul>\n<p>In aggiunta, si pu\u00f2 notare l'aggiornamento del progetto GE-Proton7, nel quale appassionati stanno creando versioni estese del pacchetto per l'esecuzione delle applicazioni Windows Proton, indipendenti dalla Valve. Queste versioni si distinguono per una versione pi\u00f9 recente di Wine, l'uso di FFmpeg in FAudio e l'inclusione di patch aggiuntive che risolvono problemi in varie applicazioni di gioco. Nella versione Proton GE 43 \u00e8 avvenuto il passaggio a una nuova base di codice di Wine, dxvk, proton, protonfix e vkd3d (da Git), e sono stati trasferiti correttivi per affrontare problematiche
