Il codice \u00e8 inizialmente progettato per supportare diverse architetture hardware ed \u00e8 disponibile per test su sistemi x86 e ARM. Nel nuovo driver, gran parte del codice per l'interazione con gli schermi \u00e8 stato preso dal driver i915 e in futuro gli sviluppatori pianificano di garantire un uso condiviso di questo codice in entrambi i driver, per evitare la duplicazione di componenti standard (attualmente questo codice viene semplicemente ricompilato due volte, ma sono in discussione alternative per la condivisione del codice). Il modello di memoria in Xe \u00e8 in gran parte simile all'implementazione del modello di memoria i915, e l'implementazione di execbuf \u00e8 molto simile a execbuf3 dal codice i915. <\/p>\n

Per garantire il supporto delle API grafiche OpenGL e Vulkan, oltre al driver per il kernel Linux, il progetto ha anche preparato modifiche per l'operativit\u00e0 dei driver Mesa Iris e ANV attraverso il modulo Xe. Nella sua attuale forma, l'integrazione di Xe con Mesa \u00e8 gi\u00e0 sufficientemente sviluppata per l'esecuzione di GNOME, browser e giochi basati su OpenGL e Vulkan, ma ci sono ancora alcuni problemi e bug isolati, tra cui crash.
