Nel codice del driver Vulkan per Wine \u00e8 stata aggiunta la compatibilit\u00e0 con l'estensione Vulkan VK_EXT_hdr_metadata, pensata per la gestione dei metadati dell'ampio intervallo dinamico (HDR), che comprende informazioni sui colori primari, punto bianco e intervallo di luminosit\u00e0, all'interno dei framebuffer virtuali (SwapChain) di Vulkan. La patch proposta per Wine \u00e8 necessaria per utilizzare l'HDR nei giochi che si basano sull'API grafica Vulkan, come Doom Eternal, cos\u00ec come nei giochi che utilizzano l'API grafica Direct3D con supporto HDR, che impiegano DXVK o VKD3D-Proton, i quali \"in tempo reale\" convertono le chiamate Direct3D in chiamate di sistema Vulkan. <\/p>\n

La societ\u00e0 Valve ha gi\u00e0 utilizzato la patch proposta nella sua build Proton basata su Wine, ma ora \u00e8 ufficialmente diventata parte di Wine 8.1+, e poi sar\u00e0 inclusa nella versione stabile di Wine 9.0, che \u00e8 prevista per gennaio 2024.
