Nel pacchetto ImageMagick, frequentemente utilizzato dagli sviluppatori web per il trattamento delle immagini, \u00e8 stata identificata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 CVE-2022-44268, che pu\u00f2 portare alla fuoriuscita del contenuto dei file durante la conversione di immagini PNG preparate per attacchi. Questa vulnerabilit\u00e0 mina i sistemi che gestiscono immagini esterne e consentono il caricamento dei risultati della conversione. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 causata dal fatto che, durante l'elaborazione delle immagini PNG, ImageMagick utilizza il contenuto del parametro \"profile\" dal blocco dei metadati per determinare il nome del file del profilo da includere nel file risultante. Pertanto, per attaccare, \u00e8 sufficiente aggiungere un parametro \"profile\" con un percorso di file necessario (ad esempio, \"\/etc\/passwd\") all'immagine PNG e, durante l'elaborazione di tale immagine, come ad esempio durante la modifica delle dimensioni dell'immagine, il contenuto del file richiesto verr\u00e0 incluso nel file di output. Se invece del nome del file viene specificato \"-\", il gestore si bloccher\u00e0 in attesa di input dal flusso standard, il che pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per portare a un attacco DoS (CVE-2022-44267). <\/p>\n

Non \u00e8 ancora stato rilasciato un aggiornamento per correggere la vulnerabilit\u00e0, ma gli sviluppatori di ImageMagick hanno raccomandato come soluzione alternativa di creare una regola nelle impostazioni per limitare l'accesso a determinati percorsi di file.
