Nel pacchetto ImageMagick, comunemente utilizzato dagli sviluppatori web per la conversione delle immagini, \u00e8 stata scoperta la vulnerabilit\u00e0 CVE-2022-44268, che pu\u00f2 portare a una fuga di contenuti di file durante la conversione di immagini PNG preparate da un attaccante. Questa vulnerabilit\u00e0 minaccia i sistemi che elaborano immagini esterne e consentono il caricamento dei risultati della conversione. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 causata dal fatto che durante l'elaborazione delle immagini PNG, ImageMagick utilizza il contenuto del parametro \u00abprofile\u00bb dal blocco dei metadati per determinare il nome del file del profilo da includere nel file risultante. Pertanto, per attaccare \u00e8 sufficiente aggiungere al PNG il parametro \u00abprofile\u00bb con il percorso del file desiderato (ad esempio, \u00ab\/etc\/passwd\u00bb) e, durante l'elaborazione di tale immagine, ad esempio, ridimensionandola, il contenuto del file necessario sar\u00e0 incluso nel file di output. Se invece si indica il nome del file come \u00ab-\u00bb, il gestore si bloccera in attesa di input dallo stream standard, il che pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per realizzare un attacco Denial of Service (CVE-2022-44267). <\/p>\n

Non \u00e8 stata ancora rilasciata una patch per la vulnerabilit\u00e0, ma i programmatori di ImageMagick hanno raccomandato come soluzione temporanea per bloccare la fuga di informazioni di creare una regola nelle impostazioni che limiti l'accesso a determinati percorsi di file.
