Prima dell'implementazione dell'ARI, il cliente definiva autonomamente la politica di aggiornamento del certificato, ad esempio avviando periodicamente il processo di aggiornamento tramite Cron o prendendo decisioni basate sull'analisi della durata di vita del certificato. Questo approccio ha comportato difficolt\u00e0 in caso di necessit\u00e0 di revoca anticipata dei certificati, ad esempio, si doveva contattare gli utenti via email e costringerli a eseguire manualmente l'aggiornamento. <\/p>\n
L'estensione ARI consente al cliente di determinare il momento consigliato per l'aggiornamento del certificato, senza doversi vincolare ai 90 giorni di durata di vita dei certificati e senza preoccuparsi di un'eventuale revoca imprevista del certificato. Ad esempio, in caso di revoca anticipata tramite ARI, l'aggiornamento pu\u00f2 essere avviato non dopo 90, ma dopo 60 giorni.
