L'azienda Oracle ha pubblicato la versione della distribuzione Oracle Linux 9.3, basata su Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.3 e totalmente compatibile binariamente con essa. Sono disponibili per il download senza restrizioni le immagini ISO di installazione, di dimensioni di 10 GB e 900 MB, preparate per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Per Oracle Linux 9 \u00e8 disponibile un accesso gratuito e illimitato al repository yum con aggiornamenti binari dei pacchetti che risolvono errori (errata) e problemi di sicurezza. Sono stati preparati anche repository supportati separatamente con set di pacchetti Application Stream e CodeReady Builder. <\/p>\n

Oltre al pacchetto kernel incluso in RHEL (basato sul kernel 5.14), Oracle Linux offre il proprio kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 7 Update 2, basato sul kernel Linux 5.15 e ottimizzato per funzionare con software e hardware industriale Oracle. I codici sorgenti del kernel, inclusa la suddivisione in patch separate, sono disponibili nel repository Git pubblico di Oracle. Il kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel \u00e8 installato di default, posizionato come alternativa al pacchetto kernel standard RHEL e offre una serie di funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate, come l'integrazione DTrace e il miglior supporto per Btrfs. A parte il kernel aggiuntivo, le versioni di Oracle Linux 9.3 e RHEL 9.3 sono completamente identiche (l'elenco delle modifiche pu\u00f2 essere consultato nell'annuncio di RHEL 9.3).
