Secondo quanto riferito da Tom's Hardware, la costruzione del primo centro dati sottomarino commerciale cinese UDC Hainan \u00e8 in corso. Il centro dati si trova al largo della costa della citt\u00e0 di Sanya (isola di Hainan). Le aziende coinvolte nel progetto hanno installato il primo modulo ad aprile, e venerd\u00ec scorso il team di ingegneri Highlander (HiCloud Data Center Technology) ha immerso in mare un altro blocco. Questo non \u00e8 l'unico centro dati sottomarino in Cina, altri impianti sono in costruzione nei delta dei fiumi Yangtze e Pearl. Il modulo, del peso di circa 1300 tonnellate, viene installato a una profondit\u00e0 di 35 metri: solo per raggiungere il fondo ci vogliono tre ore. Si prevede che la struttura possa funzionare per 25 anni, mantenendo resistenza ai disastri naturali.
