Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, la prevista versione LTS del sistema operativo di Canonical, promette di portare una serie di ottimizzazioni delle prestazioni per l'ambiente desktop GNOME. Questi nuovi miglioramenti sono progettati per aumentare l'efficienza e l'usabilit\u00e0, soprattutto per gli utenti con pi\u00f9 monitor e per coloro che utilizzano sessioni Wayland.<\/p>\n

In aggiunta alle patch di triple buffering di GNOME, che non sono ancora incluse nel ramo principale di Mutter, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS e Debian stanno pianificando ulteriori ottimizzazioni delle prestazioni. Daniel van Woog di Canonical continua a lavorare sul triple buffering e ha recentemente presentato un piccolo redesign del codice.<\/p>\n

Una delle patch proposte per il pacchetto Mutter di Debian \u00e8 mirata all'uso di schede grafiche per monitor aggiuntivi collegati a schede grafiche supplementari nelle sessioni Wayland.
