Gli sviluppatori del progetto Gentoo hanno annunciato l'apertura di un repository separato con pacchetti binari compilati con supporto per la terza versione dell'architettura micro x86-64 (x86-64-v3), utilizzata nei processori Intel dagli anni 2015 (a partire da Intel Haswell) e caratterizzata dalla presenza di estensioni come AVX, AVX2, BMI2, FMA, LZCNT, MOVBE e SXSAVE. Nel repository \u00e8 offerta una serie separata di pacchetti, creata parallelamente a quella pubblicata nel repository di dicembre, dove la compilazione \u00e8 effettuata per l'architettura base x86-64, utilizzabile su qualsiasi processore Intel e AMD a 64 bit. <\/p>\n

Il nuovo repository consente di ottenere prestazioni superiori sui processori moderni, grazie all'utilizzo di istruzioni avanzate nei programmi.
