L'azienda Canonical ha annunciato l'introduzione di un periodo di 12 anni per le aggiornamenti delle versioni LTS di Ubuntu. Questo prolungamento riguarder\u00e0 tutte le attuali versioni LTS, a partire da Ubuntu 14.04, il cui supporto sarebbe dovuto scadere ad aprile di quest'anno, ma ora \u00e8 stato esteso ad aprile 2026. Gli aggiornamenti per Ubuntu 24.04 saranno disponibili fino al 2036, Ubuntu 22.04 fino al 2034, Ubuntu 20.04 fino al 2032, e cos\u00ec via. Gli aggiornamenti saranno ancora pubblicamente disponibili per 5 anni dalla data di rilascio, mentre i restanti 7 anni saranno offerti solo agli utenti del servizio Ubuntu Pro. <\/p>\n

Per utilizzo personale \u00e8 prevista la possibilit\u00e0 di collegarsi gratuitamente a Ubuntu Pro per ricevere aggiornamenti avanzati su 5 macchine. I membri ufficiali della Ubuntu Community possono ricevere gratuitamente aggiornamenti avanzati per 50 macchine. <\/p>\n
