Gli sviluppatori del progetto Raspberry Pi hanno introdotto il servizio Raspberry Pi Connect, progettato per collegarsi in remoto al desktop della distribuzione Raspberry Pi OS attraverso un web browser. Il servizio pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato in ambienti Raspberry Pi OS per schede Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 400 e Raspberry Pi 5, basate su Debian 12 e convertite al stack grafico basato su Wayland.

Per utilizzare il servizio \u00e8 sufficiente installare il pacchetto «rpi-connect», dopodich\u00e9 apparir\u00e0 una nuova icona nella barra di sistema, attraverso la quale \u00e8 possibile attivare il servizio. Dopo la registrazione, \u00e8 possibile collegarsi al dispositivo dal browser tramite la pagina connect.raspberrypi.com, che viene utilizzata solo per coordinare le connessioni, mentre la comunicazione viene stabilita direttamente tra il browser e il sistema operativo tramite il protocollo WebRTC. In caso di impossibilit\u00e0 a stabilire una connessione diretta, \u00e8 opzionalmente supportato il tunneling crittografato attraverso server<\/a> l'organizzazione Raspberry Pi Foundation (per gli utenti comuni il servizio rimarr\u00e0 gratuito). Sul lato del dispositivo, per gestire le connessioni, viene avviato il processo in background rpi-connect, che avvia un server VNC, a cui si connette il client VNC, progettato per funzionare dal browser.
