Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in Rust e distribuito sotto licenza Apache 2.0.          <\/p>\n<p>Tra le caratteristiche del linguaggio Bend si evidenzia una rapida distribuzione degli oggetti, la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare funzioni di ordine superiore, chiusure, continuazioni, ricorsione illimitata, corrispondenza con il modello, corrispondenze ricorsive (fold) e cicli (bend), tipi interi, stringhe e liste. Sono supportate due varianti di sintassi \u2014 nello stile di Python e nello stile di Haskell. Nei programmi non \u00e8 necessario specificare annotazioni di parallelizzazione, creare esplicitamente thread o impostare blocchi. La parallelizzazione avviene automaticamente, ad esempio, durante il calcolo dell'espressione \u00ab((1 + 2) + (3 + 4))\u00bb, le operazioni \u00ab1 + 2\u00bb e \u00ab3 + 4\u00bb verranno eseguite in parallelo.     <\/p>\n<p> I programmi nel linguaggio Bend possono essere eseguiti su hardware che offre parallelismo massiccio, ad esempio su GPU, mostrando praticamente una crescita lineare delle prestazioni in base al numero di core di calcolo. Il codice scritto in Bend viene compilato in una rappresentazione intermedia a basso livello HVM2 (Higher-order Virtual Machine 2), che viene poi compilata in C e CUDA.
