La societ\u00e0 Oracle ha annunciato la creazione di pacchetti con il kernel UEK-next (Next Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel), basati sulla versione del kernel Linux 6.9. Di default, invece del kernel di Red Hat Enterprise Linux, nel distributore Oracle Linux continua a essere utilizzato il kernel UEK 7, basato sul kernel Linux 5.15. Nel frattempo, il kernel UEK-next \u00e8 posizionato come un'opzione continuamente aggiornabile per gli sviluppatori, che consente di accedere ai miglioramenti pi\u00f9 recenti della branch principale del kernel, mantenendo al contempo l'accesso alle caratteristiche avanzate specifiche del kernel UEK, come l'integrazione di DTrace e il miglior supporto per Btrfs, oltre a ottimizzazioni per il funzionamento con software e hardware industriale di Oracle. <\/p>\n

Il kernel UEK-next viene creato sovrapponendo patch e miglioramenti sul kernel principale di Linux, preparati per il kernel UEK. Il kernel non \u00e8 progettato per essere utilizzato in implementazioni produttive, ma attraverso un test di base e pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per adattare applicazioni e carichi di lavoro alle nuove versioni del kernel principale.
