Nelle impostazioni di GNOME \u00e8 stata apportata una modifica che imposta per default il font Inter, ottimizzato per garantire un'alta chiarezza dei caratteri di piccole e medie dimensioni (meno di 12px) quando visualizzati sugli schermi dei computer. \u00c8 possibile che prima del rilascio autunnale di GNOME 47 questa modifica venga annullata se il suo test sar\u00e0 considerato non riuscito dagli utenti.<\/p>\n

In modalit\u00e0 predefinita, il carattere Inter presenta alcuni problemi, ovvero la visualizzazione identica della lettera maiuscola \u00abI\u00bb e della lettera minuscola \u00abl\u00bb, cos\u00ec come della lettera \u00abO\u00bb e del numero \u00ab0\u00bb. Questo problema viene risolto impostando l'opzione \u00abss02\u00bb nella propriet\u00e0 font-feature-settings.<\/p>\n

Per testare il nuovo carattere, \u00e8 necessario scaricare e decomprimere l'archivio zip con il carattere Inter, installare il carattere facendo doppio clic sui file InterVariable.ttf e InterVariable-Italic.ttf nell'applicazione GNOME Fonts, dopodich\u00e9 attivarlo come carattere per l'interfaccia nell'applicazione GNOME Tweaks o tramite l'utilit\u00e0 gsettings (\u00abgsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface font-name 'Inter Variable 11'\u00bb).<\/p>\n
