Gli sviluppatori della libreria crittografica OpenSSL hanno annunciato una ristrutturazione completa della gestione del progetto e delle sue modalit\u00e0 operative. Per mantenere la missione del progetto, sono state create due entit\u00e0 paritetiche: l'organizzazione no-profit OpenSSL Foundation e la societ\u00e0 commerciale OpenSSL Corporation, focalizzate sugli interessi della comunit\u00e0 no-profit e delle imprese commerciali. La missione del progetto abbraccia valori come l'importanza della comunit\u00e0, l'impegno verso un modello di sviluppo open source, la salvaguardia della privacy, e metodi di governance aperti e trasparenti. Il precedente comitato di gestione, OpenSSL Management Committee (OMC), \u00e8 stato abrogato e la decisione \u00e8 stata affidata alla cooperazione dei consigli di amministrazione, eletti separatamente in OpenSSL Foundation e OpenSSL Corporation. Inoltre, nella OpenSSL Foundation e nella OpenSSL Corporation vengono eletti comitati di supervisione composti da rappresentanti della comunit\u00e0 e di aziende commerciali interessate: il Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) e il Business Advisory Committee (BAC), i quali possono rappresentare direttamente gli interessi della comunit\u00e0 nello sviluppo dei piani. Il comitato BAC sar\u00e0 istituito alla fine di ottobre 2024, mentre il TAC sar\u00e0 formato alla fine di aprile 2025.

Il progetto non \u00e8 pi\u00f9 limitato solo alla libreria OpenSSL ed \u00e8 aperto ad altri sviluppi relativi alla crittografia. I primi due progetti ad aderire sono state le librerie Bouncy Castle (crypto-API per API Java e C#) e cryptlib (API di alto livello per semplificare l'aggiunta di crittografia e autenticazione nei programmi), che ora saranno sviluppati sotto l'egida di OpenSSL Foundation e OpenSSL Corporation.
