Il server composito \u00e8 orientato alla disposizione a mosaico (tiling) delle finestre, ma supporta anche la disposizione classica delle finestre, la raggruppamento delle finestre a schede, la modalit\u00e0 pseudo-mosaico e l'espansione a schermo intero delle finestre. Sono supportati elementi per creare interfacce visivamente attraenti, come gradienti nei bordi delle finestre, sfocature, effetti animati e ombre. Per espandere le funzionalit\u00e0, \u00e8 possibile collegare plugin, mentre per il controllo esterno \u00e8 fornito IPC basato su socket. La nuova versione \u00e8 notevole per la piena disassociazione dalla libreria wlroots a favore della propria implementazione del protocollo Wayland e della libreria di rendering aquamarine, che implementa i backend per Wayland, DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) e funziona senza schermo (Headless). Nella nuova versione \u00e8 stata anche aggiunta la supporto al meccanismo \"explicit sync\", che consente di ridurre la latenza, eliminare la comparsa di artefatti e risolvere i blocchi durante l'uscita grafica su sistemi con GPU NVIDIA.
