Il primo algoritmo standardizzato (CRYSTALS-Kyber) stabilisce un metodo di incapsulazione delle chiavi ed \u00e8 progettato per la crittografia dello scambio di dati, mentre i due successivi (CRYSTALS-Dilithium e Sphincs+) implementano varianti per la generazione di firme digitali, utilizzabili per affrontare questioni relative all'autenticazione. Per evitare confusione, le varianti standardizzate degli algoritmi sono state rinominate: CRYSTALS-Kyber diventa ML-KEM, CRYSTALS-Dilithium diventa ML-DSA e Sphincs+ diventa SLH-DSA. Gli algoritmi selezionati sono in fase di sviluppo dal 2016 e sono i vincitori del precedente concorso del NIST per la creazione di algoritmi di crittografia post-quantistica.      <\/p>\n<p>I computer quantistici, che si sono sviluppati rapidamente negli ultimi tempi, risolvono in modo radicalmente pi\u00f9 veloce problemi di fattorizzazione di numeri interi in fattori primi (RSA) e logaritmi discreti sui punti delle curve ellittiche (ECDSA), che sono alla base degli attuali algoritmi di crittografia asimmetrica a chiave pubblica, efficientemente irrisolvibili su processori classici. Nella fase attuale di sviluppo delle capacit\u00e0 dei computer quantistici, non sono ancora sufficienti per compromettere gli algoritmi di crittografia classica attuale e le firme digitali basate su chiavi pubbliche, come l'ECDSA, ma si prevede che la situazione possa cambiare gi\u00e0 in questo decennio.    <\/p>\n<p>Standard adottati:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> FIPS 203\u2014considerato lo standard principale per <a href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/it\/ssl-sertifikat\/gogetssl-multi-domain\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3313\">la crittografia dei dati<\/a>, che utilizza l'algoritmo CRYSTALS-Kyber (ML-KEM\u2014Module-Lattice Key-Encapsulation Mechanism) per facilitare lo scambio di chiavi tra le parti che eseguono la crittografia e la decrittografia dei dati. L'algoritmo CRYSTALS-Kyber utilizza metodi crittografici basati su problemi della teoria delle griglie, il cui tempo di risoluzione non differisce tra computer classici e quantistici. I vantaggi dell'algoritmo scelto includono dimensioni delle chiavi relativamente ridotte e alta velocit\u00e0 di operazione.\n<li class=\"l\"> FIPS 204\u2014standard primario per la generazione di firme digitali, basato sull'algoritmo CRYSTALS-Dilithium (ML-DSA\u2014Module-Lattice Digital Signature Algorithm), che, come il CRYSTALS-Kyber, si basa sulla teoria delle griglie.\n<li class=\"l\"> FIPS 205\u2014standard alternativo per la generazione di firme digitali, che utilizza l'algoritmo Sphincs+ (SLH-DSA\u2014Stateless Hash-Based Digital Signature Algorithm), il quale applica metodi crittografici basati su funzioni hash. Sphincs+ \u00e8 inferiore al CRYSTALS-Dilithium in termini di dimensioni delle firme e velocit\u00e0 di esecuzione, ma si basa su principi matematici completamente diversi, cio\u00e8 rimarr\u00e0 efficiente in caso di compromissione degli algoritmi basati sulla teoria delle griglie.     <\/ul>\n<p>Inoltre, entro la fine dell'anno si prevede di approvare il quarto standard\u2014FIPS 206, destinato al lavoro con firme digitali e basato sull'algoritmo FALCON, che, come gli algoritmi CRYSTALS-Kyber e CRYSTALS-Dilithium, si basa sulla risoluzione di problemi della teoria delle griglie, ma a differenza di questi \u00e8 orientato ad applicazioni in cui \u00e8 richiesto il minimo dimensione della firma. La variante standardizzata dell'algoritmo FALCON sar\u00e0 fornita con il nome FN-DSA (FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) over NTRU-Lattice Digital Signature Algorithm). Entro la fine dell'anno si prevede anche di scegliere algoritmi per la creazione di standard alternativi di crittografia generale, che saranno basati su principi di funzionamento diversi rispetto a
