Nel suo intervento alla conferenza Open Source Summit China, Linus Torvalds ha dichiarato di aspettarsi un processo pi\u00f9 rapido per l'integrazione nel kernel di componenti scritti in Rust. In parte, il problema \u00e8 che gli sviluppatori pi\u00f9 anziani sono abituati al linguaggio C e non vedono la necessit\u00e0 di imparare un nuovo linguaggio che in alcuni aspetti \u00e8 molto diverso dal C. Questo atteggiamento tra gli sviluppatori porta a una certa resistenza all'adozione di Rust. Un'altra ragione per il lento progresso di Rust nel kernel \u00e8 che l'infrastruttura di Rust non \u00e8 stata estremamente stabile.
