Nel suo intervento alla conferenza Open Source Summit China, Linus Torvalds ha dichiarato di aspettarsi un processo pi\u00f9 rapido di integrazione nel kernel dei componenti scritti in Rust. Parte del problema \u00e8 che i vecchi sviluppatori sono abituati al linguaggio C e non vedono la necessit\u00e0 di apprendere un nuovo linguaggio, che in alcuni aspetti differisce notevolmente dal C. Questo atteggiamento tra gli sviluppatori porta a una certa resistenza all'adozione di Rust. Un'altra ragione per il lento avanzamento di Rust nel kernel \u00e8 stata citata come il fatto che l'infrastruttura stessa di Rust non era super stabile.
