Gli sviluppatori di KDE hanno annunciato l'integrazione di una funzione per la richiesta di donazioni nell'ambiente desktop KDE Plasma, realizzata sotto forma di una notifica pop-up. Questa notifica verr\u00e0 visualizzata solo una volta all'anno (a dicembre) e permetter\u00e0 di raggiungere un pubblico di utenti che non si rivolgono ai siti web e ai social media di KDE, dove di solito vengono pubblicati appelli per supportare il progetto. Questa modifica \u00e8 stata accettata nel codice sorgente su cui si basa il rilascio di KDE Plasma 6.2.
