Il creatore della distribuzione originale Adelie Linux, che utilizza la libreria C standard Musl, il sistema di inizializzazione OpenRC e il gestore di pacchetti APK, ha annunciato il porting riuscito del gestore di sistema systemd per lavorare con la libreria Musl. Nonostante l'implementazione abbia uno stato iniziale, \u00e8 gi\u00e0 sufficientemente stabile e dimostra una riduzione del tempo di avvio di tre volte rispetto all'uso di OpenRC. <\/p>\n

Inizialmente systemd supporta solo la libreria C Glibc, ma \u00e8 stato sviluppato separatamente dal progetto OpenEmbedded un insieme di patch che consente di utilizzare systemd in ambienti basati su Musl. Il nuovo port \u00e8 mirato alla creazione di una serie di patch completamente aggiornate che assicurano il funzionamento con le versioni recenti di systemd e musl, sfruttando le nuove funzionalit\u00e0 di systemd e musl. Il port presentato \u00e8 stato scritto da zero e, ad eccezione delle modifiche legate al supporto di GLOB_BRACE, malloc_info e malloc_trim, non si sovrappone al port di OpenEmbedded. \t <\/p>\n

Si segnala che il progetto Adelie Linux stava considerando l'idea di garantire il funzionamento di systemd in un ambiente basato su Musl dal 2015, ma sono sempre emerse priorit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 urgenti, fino a quando una delle aziende non ha espresso disponibilit\u00e0 a finanziare il completamento del port. Il nuovo insieme di patch si sviluppa inizialmente con l'intento di promuovere le modifiche nel corpo principale di systemd (nel progetto principale sono gi\u00e0 state segnalate le carenze riscontrate durante il porting). <\/p>\n

Tra i problemi noti che sono presenti nella prima versione del port, si segnala un problema con PolicyKit, che porta al blocco della sessione KDE quando si tenta di riavviare i sistemi tramite il widget. Tra le altre questioni ancora da risolvere c'\u00e8 anche la creazione di unit file per gli script di inizializzazione openrc utilizzati nella distribuzione Adelie Linux (si prevede di utilizzare come base gli unit file da Gentoo e Fedora).
