Il sistema operativo pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato su vecchi computer di classe IBM-PC XT\/AT, sul computer domestico MK-88, su schede vintage Monotech NuXT 2.0 e su SBC\/SoC\/FPGA che ricreano l'architettura IA16. Il progetto \u00e8 in sviluppo dal 1995 ed \u00e8 iniziato come un ramo del kernel Linux per dispositivi privi di un'unit\u00e0 di gestione della memoria (MMU). I codici sorgenti sono distribuiti sotto licenza GPLv2. Il sistema viene fornito sotto forma di immagini per la scrittura su dischi floppy o per l'esecuzione in emulatore QEMU.       <\/p>\n<p>Oltre al kernel Linux, adattato per sistemi a 16 bit, il progetto sviluppa un insieme di utilit\u00e0 standard (ps, bc, tar, du, diff, netstat, mount, sed, xargs, grep, find, telnet, meminfo, ecc.), inclusi un interprete dei comandi compatibile con bash, un gestore di finestre in console screen, editor di testo Kilo e vi, e un ambiente grafico basato sul server X Nano-X.         <\/p>\n<p>Sono disponibili due varianti dello stack di rete: lo stack TCP\/IP standard del kernel Linux e lo stack ktcp, che opera nello spazio utente. Le schede di rete supportate includono adattatori Ethernet compatibili con NE2K e SMC. \u00c8 anche possibile creare canali di comunicazione attraverso la porta seriale utilizzando SLIP e CSLIP. Tra i file system supportati ci sono Minix v1, FAT12, FAT16 e FAT32. La configurazione del processo di avvio avviene tramite lo script \/etc\/rc.d\/rc.sys. 3COM \u00e8 abilitato per impostazione predefinita.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata inclusa la compressione dei file eseguibili, che ha permesso di inserire pi\u00f9 applicazioni nell'immagine del disco floppy.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nel kernel \u00e8 stata implementata la gestione dell'input\/output asincrono.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato aggiunto un nuovo driver per lettori di dischi, che utilizza l'input\/output asincrono e consente di eseguire altre applicazioni durante le operazioni di input\/output.\n<li class=\"l\"> Durante l'avvio, \u00e8 possibile configurare i parametri del kernel, come la dimensione della heap, il numero di task, inode e file, per allocare risorse a seconda della dimensione della memoria.\n<li class=\"l\"> Migliorate le funzionalit\u00e0 di debug, come
