Microsoft ha annunciato l'inclusione di AlmaLinux tra le distribuzioni Linux ufficialmente raccomandate per l'uso negli ambienti cloud Azure. Nell'annuncio si sottolinea anche che oltre il 60% dei sistemi dei clienti in Azure utilizza Linux nei propri ambienti (il traguardo del 50% \u00e8 stato superato nel 2018). Oltre ad AlmaLinux, l'elenco delle distribuzioni approvate include Ubuntu, Debian, Flatcar Container Linux, Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux e SUSE. <\/p>\n

L'inclusione nell'elenco implica che la distribuzione soddisfi i criteri di Microsoft relativi ai test, alla consegna degli aggiornamenti e alla fornitura di supporto. L'elenco \u00e8 inoltre formulato tenendo conto della domanda della distribuzione da parte dei clienti di Azure.
