L'iniziativa per il porting del browser Firefox per il sistema operativo Haiku ha raggiunto uno stadio in cui questo port pu\u00f2 essere accettato nel repository ufficiale del progetto.<\/p>\n

Grazie agli sforzi congiunti dei membri del progetto, sono state apportate diverse modifiche al sistema di base e al layer per garantire la compatibilit\u00e0 con Wayland, preparato dal partecipante x512.<\/p>\n

Per evitare problemi legati ai marchi del company Mozilla, \u00e8 stato deciso di utilizzare il nome IceWeasel per la distribuzione delle versioni del browser, in analogia con la distribuzione del browser Firefox per Debian in passato.<\/p>\n

La ragione della pubblicazione del port definitivo per il grande pubblico \u00e8 stata la possibilit\u00e0 di riprodurre media e di output audio, oltre al supporto JIT.<\/p>\n

\u00c8 importante notare che il port ha ancora un carattere sperimentale e presenta problemi noti, come artefatti grafici causati dall'imperfezione del layer Wayland, e non supporta alcune funzionalit\u00e0 come WebRTC.<\/p>\n
