Oracle ha annunciato la versione preliminare della distribuzione Oracle Linux 10, basata sulla base pacchetti di Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 e completamente binariamente compatibile con essa. \u00c8 disponibile per il download senza limiti un'immagine ISO di installazione, preparata per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Per Oracle Linux 10 \u00e8 stata aperta l'accesso illimitato e gratuito al repository yum con aggiornamenti binari dei pacchetti che risolvono errori (errata) e problemi di sicurezza. Sono stati preparati separatamente repository con set di pacchetti Application Stream e CodeReady Builder, nonch\u00e9 un repository con kernel UEK-next. <\/p>\n

Oltre al pacchetto con il kernel della RHEL (basato sul kernel 6.11), Oracle Linux offre un proprio kernel chiamato Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Next (UEK-Next), basato sul kernel Linux 6.12 e ottimizzato per funzionare con il software e l'hardware di Oracle. Il codice sorgente del kernel, comprese le suddivisioni in patch separate, \u00e8 disponibile in un repository Git pubblico di Oracle. Il kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel \u00e8 installato per impostazione predefinita, posizionato come alternativa al pacchetto con il kernel RHEL standard e offre una serie di funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate, come l'integrazione di DTrace, un miglior supporto per Btrfs e ottimizzazioni per i prodotti Oracle.
