\u00c8 stata identificata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 nella libreria di rendering dei font FreeType (CVE-2025-27363), che potrebbe potenzialmente portare all'esecuzione di codice durante l'elaborazione di file appositamente formattati con font variabili o in formato TrueType GX. Il problema si manifesta solo nelle versioni di FreeType fino alla 2.13.0 inclusa ed \u00e8 stato corretto nella versione 2.13.1 (giugno 2023). Si sospetta che la vulnerabilit\u00e0 sia stata gi\u00e0 sfruttata in precedenza per compiere attacchi. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 causata da un buffer overflow che si verifica durante l'analisi delle strutture subglyph nei font. L'overflow si verifica a causa dell'assegnazione a una variabile di tipo \u00absigned short\u00bb, coinvolta nel calcolo della dimensione del buffer, di un valore di tipo \u00abunsigned long\u00bb, il che pu\u00f2 portare a un overflow intero e all'allocazione di un buffer di dimensioni errate. Successivamente, vengono scritti almeno 6 numeri interi di tipo \u00ablong\u00bb oltre i limiti di questo buffer. <\/p>\n

\u00c8 possibile tenere traccia degli aggiornamenti nei pacchetti su queste pagine: Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE\/openSUSE, Fedora, Arch, FreeBSD. Dall'analisi delle versioni utilizzate, le versioni vulnerabili di FreeType sono presenti nei pacchetti di Amazon Linux 2, Debian stable \/ Devuan, RHEL 8 e 9 (+ CentOS Stream e derivati), GNU Guix, Mageia, OpenMandriva, openSUSE Leap, Slackware e Ubuntu 22.04.
