L'autore della libreria grafica LDL (Little Directmedia Layer) e del motore di gioco ArcanumWorld sta sviluppando il progetto SDL3Lite, mirato a ricreare la libreria SDL3 con supporto per vecchie architetture e sistemi operativi, mantenendo la compatibilit\u00e0 con SDL3 a livello di C API. Con funzionalit\u00e0 limitate, SDL3Lite supporta gi\u00e0 il funzionamento su Linux, a partire da Debian 3, e su Windows, a partire da Windows 95. Tra i requisiti di sistema per l'API grafica \u00e8 dichiarato il supporto per OpenGL 1.0, mentre per il rendering 2D \u00e8 richiesto OpenGL 1.2. In futuro, l'autore prevede di aggiungere il supporto per Windows 3.1 e MS-DOS. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in C++ e viene distribuito sotto licenza BSL (Boost Software License).
