L'autore della libreria grafica LDL (Little Directmedia Layer) e del motore di gioco ArcanumWorld sta sviluppando il progetto SDL3Lite, mirato a ricreare la libreria SDL3 con supporto per architetture e sistemi operativi obsoleti, mantenendo la compatibilit\u00e0 con SDL3 a livello di C API. Con funzionalit\u00e0 limitate, SDL3Lite supporta gi\u00e0 l'uso su Linux, a partire da Debian 3, e Windows, a partire da Windows 95. Tra i requisiti di sistema per l'uso dell'API grafica c'\u00e8 il supporto per OpenGL 1.0, mentre il rendering 2D richiede OpenGL 1.2. In futuro, l'autore prevede di aggiungere il supporto per Windows 3.1 e MS-DOS. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in C++ e distribuito con licenza BSL (Boost Software License).
