Gli sviluppatori della distribuzione openSUSE hanno implementato nel gestore pacchetti Zypper la possibilit\u00e0 di parallelizzare il download di pacchetti e metadati. Inoltre, \u00e8 stato introdotto un nuovo backend, in grado di riutilizzare in modo pi\u00f9 efficiente le connessioni gi\u00e0 stabilite, aumentando l'efficacia dell'elaborazione dei metadati. Durante l'aggiornamento di 250 pacchetti per un totale di 100 MB, il tempo di download con il nuovo backend e la modalit\u00e0 parallela \u00e8 sceso da 68,7 secondi a 13,1 secondi, mentre per l'aggiornamento di 407 pacchetti di dimensioni 1 GB il tempo \u00e8 passato da 281,1 secondi a 119,6 secondi. <\/p>\n

La parallelizzazione \u00e8 disponibile a partire dalle versioni libzypp 17.36.4 e zypper 1.14.87, attualmente presenti solo nei repository Tumbleweed e Slowroll. Di default, queste funzionalit\u00e0 sono disattivate e presentate come sperimentali. Per abilitare il download parallelo e il nuovo backend, \u00e8 possibile utilizzare le variabili d'ambiente \"ZYPP_PCK_PRELOAD=1\" e \"ZYPP_CURL2=1\", mentre il numero di connessioni simultanee pu\u00f2 essere regolato tramite il parametro \"download.max_concurrent_connections\" nel file di configurazione zypp.conf.
