Dopo due anni e mezzo di sviluppo, \u00e8 stato rilasciato CRUX 3.7, una distribuzione Linux leggera e indipendente, sviluppata dal 2001 secondo il concetto di KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) e rivolta agli utenti esperti. L'obiettivo del progetto \u00e8 creare una distribuzione semplice e trasparente per gli utenti, basata su script di inizializzazione simili a BSD, con una struttura il pi\u00f9 semplificata possibile e contenente un numero relativamente ridotto di pacchetti binari pronti all\u2019uso. CRUX supporta un sistema di porte che consente di installare e aggiornare le applicazioni nello stile di FreeBSD\/Gentoo. La dimensione dell'immagine ISO preparata per l'architettura x86-64 \u00e8 di 1,7 GB. <\/p>\n

Nella nuova versione sono stati aggiornati i componenti di sistema, inclusi il kernel Linux 6.12, glibc 2.40, gcc 14.2.0, binutils 2.43.1, sysvinit 3.14. Sono stati inclusi nuovi pacchetti come nvme-cli, rdfind, libbsd, libcap-ng, libxcrypt. Di default, continua a essere fornuto un ambiente basato su X-server (xorg-server 21.1.16, Mesa 25.0), ma come opzione \u00e8 stata realizzata la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare il protocollo Wayland.
