\u00c8 stata dimostrata la possibilit\u00e0 di creare un exploit funzionante per la vulnerabilit\u00e0 CVE-2025-21756, causata da un errore nel kernel Linux che porta a un accesso alla memoria dopo la sua liberazione. Il problema riguarda l'implementazione dei socket con indirizzamento AF_VSOCK, progettati per l'interazione di rete tra applicazioni delle macchine virtuali e gli host. L'exploit pubblicato consente di eseguire codice con privilegi di root su sistemi con kernel Linux 6.6.75 (per altre versioni \u00e8 necessaria una modifica dell'exploit). <\/p>\n

Il problema \u00e8 stato risolto nel kernel Linux 6.14 e negli aggiornamenti di febbraio e marzo delle versioni stabili, come 6.12.16, 6.6.79 e 6.1.131. La vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 stata corretta anche nei pacchetti del kernel per RHEL, SUSE\/openSUSE e Ubuntu e Debian 12, ma rimane irrisolta in Debian 11. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilit\u00e0 \u00e8 legata al fatto che durante la ridefinizione del trasporto per il socket AF_VSOCK viene chiamata la funzione vsock_remove_sock, che a sua volta chiama la funzione vsock_remove_bound, la quale riduce in modo errato il contatore dei riferimenti all'oggetto vsock. Cos\u00ec, il contatore dei riferimenti diventa zero e il kernel libera la memoria allocata per l'oggetto, nonostante venga ancora utilizzato.
