Dopo due anni e mezzo dalla pubblicazione della versione 6.4, \u00e8 stato rilasciato il sistema operativo DragonFly BSD 6.4.1, sviluppato nel 2003 con l'obiettivo di un'alternativa al ramo FreeBSD 4.x. Tra le caratteristiche distintive di DragonFly BSD troviamo il file system a versione distribuita HAMMER, il supporto per il caricamento di \"kernel virtuali\" come processi utente, la possibilit\u00e0 di cache per dati e metadati del file system su unit\u00e0 SSD, il supporto per link simbolici variabili contestuali, e la possibilit\u00e0 di congelare i processi mantenendo il loro stato su disco, insieme a un kernel ibrido che utilizza thread leggeri (LWKT). <\/p>\n

Il rilascio di DragonFly BSD 6.4.1 \u00e8 corretto e si limita a risolvere alcuni errori accumulati. Ad esempio, \u00e8 stata corretta una problematica nel gestore pacchetti pkg, che causava la rimozione dei file di configurazione df-latetest.conf durante l'aggiornamento. \u00c8 stata risolta una perdita di memoria nel driver IDE\/NATA, che portava il kernel in uno stato di panic. Sono stati risolti problemi nelle configurazioni su sistemi che utilizzano solo UEFI. \u00c8 stato aggiornato il pacchetto ca_root_nss, che ha risolto i problemi di funzionamento di pkg con il repository Avalon tramite HTTPS.
