Dopo due anni e mezzo dalla pubblicazione della versione 6.4, \u00e8 stato rilasciato il sistema operativo DragonFly BSD 6.4.1, sviluppato nel 2003 con l'obiettivo di un'alternativa allo sviluppo della linea FreeBSD 4.x. Tra le caratteristiche di DragonFly BSD si possono evidenziare il file system versionato distribuito HAMMER, il supporto per l'avvio di \"nuclei virtuali\" del sistema come processi utente, la possibilit\u00e0 di caching dei dati e dei metadati del file system su dischi SSD, i collegamenti simbolici variabili che considerano il contesto, la capacit\u00e0 di sospendere i processi mantenendo il loro stato su disco e un kernel ibrido che utilizza thread leggeri (LWKT). <\/p>\n

Il rilascio di DragonFly BSD 6.4.1 \u00e8 correttivo e risolve solo alcuni errori accumulati. Ad esempio, \u00e8 stato risolto un problema nel gestore pacchetti pkg, a causa del quale durante l'aggiornamento venivano rimossi i file di configurazione df-latetest.conf. \u00c8 stata eliminata una perdita di memoria nel driver IDE\/NATA, che portava il kernel a uno stato di panic. Sono stati risolti problemi nel funzionamento su sistemi con solo UEFI. \u00c8 stato aggiornato il pacchetto ca_root_nss, risolvendo i problemi di funzionamento di pkg con il repository Avalon tramite HTTPS.
