Gli sviluppatori di ALT Linux hanno presentato un nuovo configuratore per GNOME \u2014 Tuner, progettato per semplificare l'espansione delle funzionalit\u00e0 e fornire ulteriori impostazioni. Si prevede che Tuner possa essere utilizzato dalle distribuzioni che forniscono GNOME per creare configuratori responsabili della modifica di impostazioni specifiche per la distribuzione. Ad esempio, per ALT Linux \u00e8 stato implementato il plugin TunerPanel, che consente di alternare tra la modalit\u00e0 a pannello (stile GNOME 2) e la modalit\u00e0 standard dell'interfaccia GNOME. <\/p>\n

Il programma \u00e8 stato sviluppato con un'architettura basata su plugin, che permette di aggiungere nuove sezioni di impostazioni, modificare l'interfaccia e ampliare le funzionalit\u00e0 tramite la fornitura di plugin separati senza dover modificare il codice dell'applicazione principale. Per la creazione dei plugin \u00e8 stato utilizzato il motore libpeas, gi\u00e0 impiegato nelle applicazioni GNOME Gedit e Totem. <\/p>\n

Tra le caratteristiche di Tuner, si segnala anche la semplificazione dell'integrazione con GSettings. Analogamente all'applicazione GNOME Refine, Tuner dispone di un meccanismo per la creazione di widget, utilizzando il linguaggio di costruzione delle interfacce Blueprint. Questi widget permettono di associare impostazioni specifiche in GSettings agli elementi dell'interfaccia creati per modificarle. <\/p>\n

Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in linguaggio Vala ed \u00e8 distribuito sotto licenza GPLv3. L'interfaccia utente \u00e8 costruita utilizzando la libreria libadwaita, conforme alle linee guida GNOME HIG (Human Interface Guidelines) e pu\u00f2 adattarsi in modo dinamico alla dimensione dello schermo. Sono disponibili modelli per lo sviluppo di plugin standard in Vala e Python.
