L'azienda Oracle ha pubblicato la distribuzione Oracle Linux 10, basata sull'architettura dei pacchetti di Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 e completamente compatibile a livello binario con essa. Sono disponibili per il download senza restrizioni le immagini ISO di installazione di dimensioni 8,5 GB e 1,1 GB, preparate per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Per Oracle Linux 10 \u00e8 stato aperto l'accesso illimitato e gratuito al repository yum con aggiornamenti dei pacchetti binari che risolvono errori (errata) e problemi di sicurezza. Sono stati preparati anche repository supportati separatamente con set di pacchetti Application Stream e CodeReady Builder. <\/p>\n

Oltre al pacchetto del kernel proveniente da RHEL (basato sul kernel 6.12), Oracle Linux offre il proprio kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8.1 (UEK 8U1), anch'esso basato sul kernel Linux 6.12 e ottimizzato per funzionare con software e hardware industriale Oracle. Nell'aggiornamento del kernel UEK 8U1 \u00e8 abilitata di default l'opzione SECURITY_DMESG_RESTRICT, che consente l'accesso a dmesg solo con i privilegi di root. I driver megaraid_sas, mpi3mr e mpt3sas sono stati retroportati dal kernel 6.15. <\/p>\n

I testi sorgente del kernel, inclusa la suddivisione in patch separate, sono disponibili nel repository Git pubblico di Oracle. Il kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel \u00e8 installato per impostazione predefinita, posizionato come alternativa al pacchetto kernel standard RHEL e offre una serie di funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate, come integrazione DTrace e miglior supporto per Btrfs. A parte il kernel aggiuntivo per le funzionalit\u00e0, le versioni di Oracle Linux 10 e RHEL 10 sono completamente identiche (l'elenco delle modifiche \u00e8 disponibile nell'annuncio di RHEL 10).
