La societ\u00e0 Oracle ha pubblicato la distribuzione Oracle Linux 10, basata sulla base di pacchetti di Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 e completamente compatibile a livello binario. Sono disponibili per il download, senza limitazioni, le immagini ISO di installazione, di dimensioni 8,5 GB e 1,1 GB, preparate per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Per Oracle Linux 10 \u00e8 aperto un accesso illimitato e gratuito al repository yum con aggiornamenti binari dei pacchetti che risolvono errori (errata) e problemi di sicurezza. Sono inoltre disponibili repository separati con set di pacchetti Application Stream e CodeReady Builder. <\/p>\n

Oltre al pacchetto del kernel proveniente da RHEL (basato sul kernel 6.12), in Oracle Linux \u00e8 proposto anche il kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8.1 (UEK 8U1), anch'esso basato sul kernel Linux 6.12 e ottimizzato per lavorare con software e hardware industriali Oracle. Nell'aggiornamento del kernel UEK 8U1 \u00e8 attivata per impostazione predefinita l'opzione SECURITY_DMESG_RESTRICT, che consente l'accesso a dmesg solo in presenza dei diritti di root. I driver megaraid_sas, mpi3mr e mpt3sas sono stati backportati dal kernel 6.15. <\/p>\n

I codici sorgente del kernel, inclusa la suddivisione in patch separate, sono disponibili nel repository Git pubblico di Oracle. Il kernel Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel \u00e8 installato per impostazione predefinita, posizionato come alternativa al pacchetto del kernel RHEL e offre una serie di funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate, come l'integrazione di DTrace e un miglior supporto per Btrfs.
