Per utilizzare DXVK \u00e8 necessario disporre di driver che supportano l'API Vulkan 1.3, come Mesa RADV 25.0, NVIDIA 550.54.14 e Intel ANV 25.0. DXVK pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per eseguire applicazioni e giochi 3D su Linux tramite Wine, fungendo da alternativa ad alte prestazioni alle implementazioni Direct3D integrate in Wine, che funzionano su OpenGL.      <\/p>\n<p>Variazioni principali:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stato aggiunto il supporto all'estensione Vulkan VK_KHR_maintenance5, il che ha comportato un aumento dei requisiti per i driver utilizzati. Per far funzionare DXVK ora sono necessari almeno i driver Vulkan RADV e ANV di Mesa 25.0 o driver proprietari NVIDIA 550.54.14 (si raccomanda di utilizzare versioni pi\u00f9 recenti di Mesa 25.1 e NVIDIA 575.51.02). In precedenza, DXVK poteva funzionare con le versioni Mesa RADV 24.0, NVIDIA 535.183.01 e Intel ANV 24.0.\n<p>La modifica influisce principalmente sugli utenti della piattaforma Windows che utilizzano schede grafiche AMD Polaris e Vega, la cui supporto \u00e8 stato interrotto nei driver AMD attuali per Windows. Inoltre, a causa dei crescenti problemi di compatibilit\u00e0, \u00e8 stato deciso di mantenere il supporto per i driver AMD per Windows solo secondo un principio residuale.    <\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata riprogettata e modernizzata la gestione dei descrittori dei shader. Su sistemi con modelli relativamente nuovi di GPU AMD e NVIDIA, per lavorare con i descrittori \u00e8 per impostazione predefinita utilizzata l'estensione Vulkan VK_EXT_descriptor_buffer, che consente di ridurre significativamente il carico sulla CPU. Questa modifica ha permesso di migliorare le prestazioni di giochi che dipendono dalle prestazioni della CPU, come Final Fantasy XIV, God of War, Metaphor: ReFantazio e Watch Dogs 2. In alcune situazioni, a fronte di una maggiore stabilit\u00e0 delle prestazioni generali, si pu\u00f2 osservare una leggera diminuzione delle prestazioni nei giochi legati alla GPU. Per disattivare l'ottimizzazione si pu\u00f2 utilizzare l'impostazione dxvk.enableDescriptorBuffer.\n<li class=\"l\"> Su sistemi con GPU Intel Battlemage e Lunar Lake, \u00e8 abilitato per impostazione predefinita un modo che avvia periodicamente un processo di deframmentazione e restituzione della memoria non utilizzata al sistema. Grazie alla riduzione della frammentazione della memoria, si osserva una diminuzione del picco di consumo di memoria nei giochi. Per gestire l'attivazione della deframmentazione \u00e8 prevista l'impostazione dxvk.enableMemoryDefrag.\n<li class=\"l\"> Sulle GPU discrete si considerano ora, se possibile, i dati trasmessi dal driver riguardo al budget della memoria video (VRAM), e vengono restituiti pi\u00f9 attivamente al sistema le risorse non utilizzate in caso di carenza di memoria.
