L'azienda Canonical ha licenziato Till Kamppeter, leader del progetto OpenPrinting, che sviluppa componenti per la gestione della stampa su Linux, e che dal 2021 ha assunto la responsabilit\u00e0 del server di stampa CUPS, dopo che Apple ha perso interesse nel progetto. Till \u00e8 co-fondatore di OpenPrinting e segue il progetto sin dalla sua creazione nel 2001. Dal 2006 Till era impiegato in Canonical, dove si occupava dello sviluppo del sistema di stampa per Linux. <\/p>\n

Canonical non ha commentato il licenziamento, ma si ipotizza che sia legato alla riduzione del personale che lavora da remoto o all'impegno in un progetto esterno. A causa della perdita del lavoro, Till si \u00e8 trovato nella necessit\u00e0 di guadagnarsi da vivere e, per continuare lo sviluppo di OpenPrinting, intende cercare finanziamenti attraverso sponsor o trovare un datore di lavoro che, come Canonical, gli permetta di lavorare al progetto OpenPrinting nel proprio ambiente lavorativo.
