Il progetto WSL-For-FreeBSD sviluppa una versione degli strumenti WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux) che consente di avviare FreeBSD su Windows anzich\u00e9 Linux, con modifiche minime all'ambiente di base di FreeBSD. Le modifiche apportate verranno integrate nel codice sorgente aperto di WSL2, se possibile. Il progetto si posiziona come personale ed esperimentale. <\/p>\n

In questa fase, FreeBSD pu\u00f2 gi\u00e0 essere avviato in WSL2 in modalit\u00e0 console. I principali componenti di FreeBSD si avviano con successo. Attualmente, il lavoro \u00e8 focalizzato sull'aggiunta del supporto di rete, sull'ottimizzazione delle operazioni di input\/output e sulla gestione dei processi. Tra i piani futuri, si menzionano l'integrazione degli strumenti di FreeBSD con l'ambiente Windows e la preparazione della documentazione. <\/p>\n

Il progetto WSL2, sviluppato da Microsoft, fornisce una macchina virtuale con un kernel Linux completo, nella quale possono essere eseguiti i distribuzioni Linux.
