Google ha annunciato che nel rilascio di Chrome 154, previsto per ottobre 2026, verr\u00e0 implementato il reindirizzamento automatico delle richieste HTTP a HTTPS. Per i siti che non supportano HTTPS, prima di aprirli per la prima volta tramite HTTP verr\u00e0 visualizzata una finestra di dialogo per confermare l'operazione. Attualmente, questo comportamento \u00e8 facoltativo e richiede l'attivazione dell'impostazione 'Always Use Secure Connections'.

Inizialmente, la modalit\u00e0 di utilizzo permanente di HTTPS era prevista per essere attivata di default gi\u00e0 nel 2023, ma l'attivazione per tutti gli utenti \u00e8 stata rinviata e limitata all'attivazione in modalit\u00e0 'incognito' e a esperimenti puntuali.
