L'azienda Anthropic, che promuove la famiglia di grandi modelli linguistici Claude, ha acquisito una startup che sviluppa la piattaforma JavaScript open-source Bun, presentata come un'alternativa ad alte prestazioni alle piattaforme Node.js e Deno. La principale motivazione dell'acquisizione \u00e8 il desiderio di garantire uno sviluppo stabile della piattaforma Bun, che \u00e8 coinvolta nei prodotti Claude Code e Claude Agent SDK. Dopo il completamento dell'operazione, il progetto rimarr\u00e0 aperto e continuer\u00e0 a essere sviluppato pubblicamente su GitHub, sar\u00e0 fornito sotto licenza MIT, sar\u00e0 gestito e sviluppato dallo stesso team e manterr\u00e0 le sue priorit\u00e0 (orientamento verso alte prestazioni e compatibilit\u00e0 con Node.js). <\/p>\n

Il progetto Bun \u00e8 scritto nei linguaggi Zig e C++, e viene sviluppato con l'attenzione a garantire la compatibilit\u00e0 con le applicazioni server per Node.js e supporta la maggior parte delle API di Node.js. La piattaforma include un insieme di strumenti per creare ed eseguire applicazioni in JavaScript e TypeScript, nonch\u00e9 un runtime per l'esecuzione di applicazioni JavaScript senza browser, un gestore di pacchetti (compatibile con NPM), strumenti per l'esecuzione di test, un sistema di costruzione di pacchetti autonomi e un layer per l'integrazione di handler scritti in C. Per prestazioni, Bun supera nettamente Deno e Node.js (nei test basati sul framework React, la piattaforma Bun supera Deno di due volte e quasi cinque volte Node.js). Per l'esecuzione di JavaScript viene utilizzato il motore JavaScript JavaScriptCore e i componenti del progetto WebKit con patch addizionali.
