L'azienda Anthropic, che promuove la famiglia di modelli di linguaggio di grandi dimensioni Claude, ha acquisito una startup che sta sviluppando una piattaforma JavaScript open source chiamata Bun, presentata come un'alternativa ad alte prestazioni alle piattaforme Node.js e Deno. La principale motivazione dell'acquisizione \u00e8 la volont\u00e0 di garantire uno sviluppo stabile della piattaforma Bun, utilizzata nei prodotti Claude Code e Claude Agent SDK. Dopo il completamento dell'operazione, il progetto rimarr\u00e0 open source e continuer\u00e0 a essere sviluppato pubblicamente su GitHub, sar\u00e0 distribuito sotto licenza MIT e sar\u00e0 supportato e sviluppato dallo stesso team, mantenendo le sue priorit\u00e0 (orientamento alle alte prestazioni e compatibilit\u00e0 con Node.js). <\/p>\n

Il progetto Bun \u00e8 scritto nei linguaggi Zig e C++, e si sviluppa tenendo conto della compatibilit\u00e0 con le applicazioni server per Node.js, supportando gran parte dell'API di Node.js. La piattaforma include un insieme di strumenti per la creazione e l'esecuzione di applicazioni nei linguaggi JavaScript e TypeScript, oltre a un runtime per eseguire applicazioni JavaScript senza browser, un gestore di pacchetti (compatibile con NPM), strumenti per eseguire test, un sistema di build per pacchetti autonomi e un'interfaccia per integrare gestori scritti in linguaggio C. In termini di prestazioni, Bun supera decisamente Deno e Node.js (nei test basati sul framework React, la piattaforma Bun supera Deno di 2 volte e Node.js di quasi 5 volte). Per l'esecuzione di JavaScript viene utilizzato il motore JavaScriptCore e componenti del progetto WebKit con patch aggiuntive.
