In precedenza, gli sviluppatori di MinIO avevano espresso insoddisfazione per l'uso delle loro creazioni in prodotti proprietari di terze parti senza rispettare i termini della licenza AGPL e senza attribuzione (ad esempio, una delle aziende ha cercato di vendere un clone completo di MinIO, promuovendolo come pi\u00f9 performante di MinIO).
