L'utility monitora lo stato della batteria del laptop, il carico della CPU, la temperatura della CPU e l'attivit\u00e0 di sistema, attivando dinamicamente modalit\u00e0 di risparmio energetico o alte prestazioni a seconda della situazione e delle opzioni selezionate. \u00c8 compatibile con dispositivi dotati di processori Intel, AMD e ARM. Pu\u00f2 essere gestita tramite un'interfaccia grafica basata su GTK o tramite un'utility da terminale. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in Python e distribuito con licenza LGPLv3.    <\/p>\n<p>Tra le funzionalit\u00e0 supportate: monitoraggio della frequenza, del carico e della temperatura della CPU, regolazione della frequenza e delle modalit\u00e0 di risparmio energetico della CPU in base alla carica della batteria, alla temperatura e al carico del sistema, ottimizzazione automatica delle prestazioni della CPU e del consumo energetico. Auto-cpufreq pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per prolungare automaticamente la durata della batteria dei laptop senza sacrificare continuamente alcune funzionalit\u00e0. A differenza dell'utilit\u00e0 TLP, auto-cpufreq non solo consente di impostare modalit\u00e0 di risparmio energetico durante l'uso autonomo del dispositivo, ma attiva temporaneamente anche la modalit\u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/it\/server\/\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"3331\">elevate prestazioni<\/a> (turbo boost) quando viene rilevato un aumento del carico sul sistema.     <\/p>\n<p>Nella nuova versione \u00e8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di attivare o disattivare forzatamente la modalit\u00e0 turbo della CPU (turbo boost) tramite interfaccia grafica e riga di comando (&#171;auto-cpufreq &#8212;turbo={never|always|auto}&#187;), indipendentemente dal livello di carica della batteria. \u00c8 stato inoltre aggiunto il parametro battery_device al file di configurazione per selezionare la batteria, nel caso in cui l'identificazione automatica della batteria predefinita non funzioni correttamente (le batterie disponibili possono essere visualizzate nella directory \/sys\/class\/power_supply\/). \u00c8 stato aggiunto un esempio del file di configurazione per Nixos.          <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Uscita degli ottimizzatori di consumo energetico auto-cpufreq 3.0.0 e TLP 1.9.1\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/14ff4a618430fb826c15f7fa03282606.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>      <\/p>\n<p>Inoltre, si segnala il rilascio dell'utilit\u00e0 TLP 1.9.1, progettata per ottimizzare automaticamente il consumo energetico e prolungare la durata della batteria dei laptop. Oltre alla gestione delle modalit\u00e0 di risparmio energetico della CPU, l'utilit\u00e0 supporta l'accensione e lo spegnimento adattivi di Bluetooth, NFC e Wi-Fi. Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in Shell e Python ed \u00e8 distribuito con licenza GPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>La versione 1.9 si distingue per l'aggiunta di un processo di background opzionale tlp-pd, che consente di passare tra tre profili di consumo energetico \u2014 performance, equilibrato e risparmio energetico. Il processo di background pu\u00f2 fungere da sostituto del servizio power-profiles-daemon e supporta l'API D-Bus utilizzata per passare tra i profili in GNOME, KDE e Cinnamon. \u00c8 inclusa anche l'utilit\u00e0 tlpctl per passare tra i profili dalla riga di comando e avviare singole applicazioni con un profilo specificato.    <\/p>\n<p>Nell'aggiornamento correttivo TLP 1.9.1 \u00e8 stata risolta una vulnerabilit\u00e0 (CVE-2025-67859) nel nuovo processo di background tlp-pd, che consente di eludere il controllo di autenticazione nel servizio Polkit e di eseguire azioni nel tlp-pd che richiedono privilegi di amministratore. Il processo tlp-pd viene eseguito con i diritti di root e accetta richieste tramite D-Bus. Parte delle richieste possono essere inviate da qualsiasi utente che abbia accesso locale verificato al sistema (che abbia avviato una sessione grafica), mentre alcune azioni sono disponibili solo per l'amministratore.
