Per il compositore KWin \u00e8 stato proposto un plugin sperimentale che trasforma KDE in un ambiente desktop per sistemi di realt\u00e0 virtuale. Il plugin consente di creare interfacce non su monitor fisici, ma in forma di schermi virtuali nello spazio 3D, con cui si interagisce attraverso occhiali di realt\u00e0 aumentata o caschi 3D. <\/p>\n

\u00c8 supportato il lavoro con finestre flottanti, la fusione di schermi fisici e virtuali, il posizionamento arbitrario degli schermi nello spazio 3D, il controllo tramite tastiera senza la necessit\u00e0 di utilizzare un mouse o controller VR, e la modalit\u00e0 di tracciamento della posizione dell'utente. Per il rendering \u00e8 stato utilizzato il modulo Qt Quick 3D Xr, che si basa sul runtime OpenXR. Come runtime \u00e8 stata testata la piattaforma Monado in combinazione con gli occhiali di realt\u00e0 aumentata Rokid Max e HP G2, cos\u00ec come server<\/a> WiVRn con il casco 3D Quest 3.

\"Plugin<\/center> <\/p>\n

Per organizzare l'input \u00e8 stato realizzato il dispositivo KwinVrInputDevice, che consente di muovere il puntatore analogamente a un mouse, ma senza essere limitato ai confini dell'area di output. Per il posizionamento delle finestre nello spazio 3D sono state utilizzate le capacit\u00e0 standard di KWin, leggermente modificate per le finestre popup e ampliate dalla possibilit\u00e0 di muovere le finestre oltre l'area di output. Per il funzionamento \u00e8 necessario applicare patch a Qt e XWayland. La maggior parte delle patch sono gi\u00e0 state accettate nella base di codice di Qt e faranno parte delle versioni 6.10.2 e 6.11, restano solo 4 patch non trasferite.
