Il progetto MOS sviluppa una leggera distribuzione Linux modulare basata su Devuan Linux, mirata alla gestione dei server domestici. Inizialmente, il progetto \u00e8 stato creato 'per uso personale', ma successivamente \u00e8 evoluto oltre il sistema per scopi privati ed \u00e8 stato reso disponibile al pubblico. La versione attuale 0.1.9-beta supporta solo l'avvio in modalit\u00e0 UEFI. Sono stati preparati file immagine per l'installazione su unit\u00e0 USB (354 MB) e per l'avvio in ambienti di virtualizzazione (348 MB). <\/p>\n

MOS \u00e8 posizionato come un sistema operativo server di uso generale con interfaccia web. Out of the box, MOS includes support for mergerfs to combine multiple disks into a single pool and SnapRAID for data protection using parity checks based on snapshots (a popular combination for home media servers that does not require traditional RAID). Additional storage drivers, as well as hardware drivers (GPU, DVB), are integrated through a plugin system. The plugin and template catalog is available through the MOS Hub component. <\/p>\n

I servizi possono essere attivati e disattivati separatamente, mantenendo cos\u00ec la minimalit\u00e0 dell'installazione di base. Per le notifiche \u00e8 stato sviluppato un servizio separato in Go (MOS Notify). L'autenticazione \u00e8 basata su token; per l'uso al di fuori delle reti isolate si consiglia TLS e reverse proxy.
