Il kernel \u00e8 disponibile per architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Il codice sorgente del kernel, compresa la suddivisione in patch separate, \u00e8 pubblicato nel repository Git pubblico di Oracle.        <\/p>\n<p>Il ramo Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8 si basa sul kernel Linux 6.12, arricchito con nuove funzionalit\u00e0, ottimizzazioni e correzioni, ed \u00e8 stato testato per la compatibilit\u00e0 con la maggior parte delle applicazioni in esecuzione su RHEL, ed \u00e8 ottimizzato per lavorare con il software e l'hardware industriale di Oracle. I pacchetti installabili e src del kernel UEK 8.2 sono stati preparati per i rami della distribuzione Oracle Linux 9 e Oracle Linux 10 (non ci sono ostacoli all'uso di questo kernel in versioni simili di RHEL, CentOS, Alma Linux e Rocky Linux).     <\/p>\n<p>Tra le modifiche nel kernel UEK 8.2:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Per il hypervisor e i sistemi guest, \u00e8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare i meccanismi Intel TDX (Trusted Domain Extensions) e AMD SEV-SNP (Secure Encrypted Virtualization-Secure Nested Paging) per proteggere i sistemi guest da interferenze e analisi da parte dell'amministratore del sistema host e da attacchi fisici all'hardware. La protezione \u00e8 garantita tramite la crittografia della memoria. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/it\/vps\/\" title=\"di macchine virtuali\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">di macchine virtuali<\/a>.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di ripristinare il file system XFS in modalit\u00e0 online tramite l'utilit\u00e0 xfs_scrub, senza smontare la partizione e senza interrompere l'operativit\u00e0 con il file system.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la supporto per le pagine di guardia della memoria (guard page), l'accesso alle quali provoca un'eccezione e termina normalmente il processo (SIGSEGV). Rispetto al mappaggio in modalit\u00e0 PROT_NONE, le pagine di guardia consentono di bloccare in modo pi\u00f9 efficace l'esecuzione del codice al di fuori dell'area di memoria allocata, poich\u00e9 la loro creazione non richiede l'allocazione di un nuovo spazio di memoria virtuale.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di profilare le operazioni di allocazione e liberazione della memoria nel sistema, raccogliere statistiche sull'allocazione della memoria e sulle dimensioni della memoria utilizzata, e rilevare perdite di memoria. Per attivare la profilazione, \u00e8 stato proposto il parametro sysctl \"sysctl.vm.mem_profiling=1\", mentre l'accesso alle informazioni avviene tramite \/proc\/allocinfo.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiornati i driver per i dispositivi AMD HSMP, Intel Ethernet Connection XL710, Intel Data Streaming Accelerator, Intel 10 Gigabit PCI Express, Broadcom Emulex Fibre Channel HBA, NVIDIA ConnectX.    <\/ul>\n<p>In aggiunta, si segnala l'aggiornamento della branch UEK-next (Next Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel), che \u00e8 stata portata a utilizzare la versione del kernel Linux 6.19. UEK-next \u00e8 presentato come un'opzione continuamente aggiornata per gli sviluppatori, fornendo accesso ai pi\u00f9 recenti miglioramenti dalla branch principale del kernel, mantenendo al contempo l'accesso a funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate specifiche del kernel UEK. Il kernel UEK-next viene creato sovrapponendo al kernel Linux di mainline correzioni e miglioramenti preparati per il kernel UEK.
