Il kernel \u00e8 disponibile per le architetture x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). Il codice sorgente del kernel, inclusa la suddivisione in singoli patch, \u00e8 pubblicato in un repository Git pubblico di Oracle.        <\/p>\n<p>Il ramo dell'Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 8 si basa sul kernel Linux 6.12, che \u00e8 stato arricchito con nuove funzionalit\u00e0, ottimizzazioni e correzioni, ed \u00e8 stato verificato per la compatibilit\u00e0 con la maggior parte delle applicazioni che operano su RHEL, ottimizzandolo per lavorare con software e hardware industriale Oracle. I pacchetti di installazione e src del kernel UEK 8.2 sono stati preparati per i rami delle distribuzioni Oracle Linux 9 e Oracle Linux 10 (non ci sono ostacoli all'uso di questo kernel in versioni analoghe di RHEL, CentOS, Alma Linux e Rocky Linux).     <\/p>\n<p>Tra le modifiche nel kernel UEK 8.2:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Per l'hypervisor e i sistemi guest \u00e8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di utilizzare i meccanismi Intel TDX (Trusted Domain Extensions) e AMD SEV-SNP (Secure Encrypted Virtualization-Secure Nested Paging) per proteggere i sistemi guest da interferenze e analisi da parte dell'amministratore del sistema host e attacchi fisici all'hardware. La protezione \u00e8 garantita attraverso la crittografia della memoria. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/it\/vps\/\" title=\"macchine virtuali\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">macchine virtuali<\/a>.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la possibilit\u00e0 di ripristinare il file system XFS in modalit\u00e0 online utilizzando l'utilit\u00e0 xfs_scrub, senza smontare la partizione e senza interrompere l'operativit\u00e0 con il file system.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata aggiunta la supporto per le pagine di guardia della memoria (guard page), il cui accesso genera un'eccezione e una terminazione anomala del processo (SIGSEGV). Rispetto al mapping in modalit\u00e0 PROT_NONE, le pagine di guardia consentono di bloccare pi\u00f9 efficacemente l'esecuzione di codice al di fuori dell'area di memoria allocata, poich\u00e9 la loro creazione non richiede l'allocazione di una nuova area di memoria virtuale.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata implementata la possibilit\u00e0 di profilare le operazioni di allocazione e liberazione della memoria nel sistema, accumulando statistiche sull'allocazione della memoria e sulle dimensioni della memoria utilizzata, nonch\u00e9 identificando le perdite di memoria. Per attivare il profiling, \u00e8 stato proposto il parametro sysctl \"sysctl.vm.mem_profiling=1\", e l'accesso alle informazioni avviene tramite \/proc\/allocinfo.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aggiornati i driver per dispositivi AMD HSMP, Intel Ethernet Connection XL710, Intel Data Streaming Accelerator, Intel 10 Gigabit PCI Express, Broadcom Emulex Fibre Channel HBA, NVIDIA ConnectX.    <\/ul>\n<p>Inoltre, \u00e8 possibile notare l'aggiornamento del ramo UEK-next (Next Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel), che \u00e8 stato portato a utilizzare il rilascio del kernel Linux 6.19. UEK-next \u00e8 presentato come un'opzione continuamente aggiornata per gli sviluppatori, consentendo di accedere ai miglioramenti pi\u00f9 recenti dal ramo principale del kernel, mantenendo nel contempo l'accesso alle funzionalit\u00e0 avanzate specifiche del kernel UEK. Il kernel UEK-next \u00e8 formato sovrapponendo al kernel mainline Linux correzioni e miglioramenti preparati per il kernel UEK. Dopo un certo periodo, uno dei kernel UEK-next avr\u00e0 un lungo ciclo di supporto (LTS) e questo kernel sar\u00e0 utilizzato come base per formare il ramo UEK 9.<br \/>\n<br \/>Fonte: <a
