Nei moduli di decompressione dei dati compressi forniti con CPython per i formati lzma, bz2 e gzip (lzma.LZMADecompressor, bz2.BZ2Decompressor e gzip.GzipFile) \u00e8 stata identificata una vulnerabilit\u00e0 (CVE-2026-6100) che porta a un accesso alla memoria dopo che questa \u00e8 stata liberata. Il problema \u00e8 stato assegnato un livello di gravit\u00e0 critico (9.1 su 10) \u2014 in caso di sfruttamento riuscito, la vulnerabilit\u00e0 potrebbe portare a una fuga di informazioni dalla memoria del processo o all'esecuzione di codice malevolo durante la decompressione di dati appositamente progettati. La correzione \u00e8 attualmente disponibile sotto forma di patch. <\/p>\n

Il problema si manifesta dopo il completamento dell'operazione di allocazione della memoria con un errore che si verifica in caso di esaurimento della memoria (per sfruttare con successo la vulnerabilit\u00e0, l'attaccante deve creare le condizioni per esaurire la memoria disponibile al processo). L'accesso a memoria gi\u00e0 liberata si verifica nelle applicazioni che riutilizzano un'istanza dell'oggetto dopo un errore durante il processo di decompressione. Le applicazioni che creano una nuova istanza dell'oggetto a ogni chiamata non sono vulnerabili.
