Il compilatore utilizza un linker e un assemblatore di terze parti esistenti per la piattaforma target. Kefir \u00e8 in grado di compilarsi da solo. Inoltre, passa un insieme di test per gcc 15 e raccoglie con successo un ampio set di software open source.
